Elena Walch Pinot Grigio [2015/2016]
Elena Walch, a former architect, became a wine producer in 1985 after marrying into one of the oldest established wine families in Tramin. She took over two magnificent estates: Castel Ringberg, and Kastelaz, a steep, south-facing hillside which towers above the village centre of Tramin. Not surprisingly, the latter is highly regarded for its white wine made from the Gewürztraminer grape which took its name from the village Tramin. Star Winery - Gambero Rosso (Indicates that the winery has won ten 3 Glass Awards by Gambero Rosso. They are the elite, the aristocracy, in short the very top flight of Italian wine.)
Pale yellow in colour. Delicate scents with a light touch of mature apples and pears. Full-bodied, mild acidity. Very adaptable due to its harmony and elegance. An excellent aperitif, or pair with pasta dishes, mild cheeses, grilled fish and cheese fondue.
